HSTES, Haryana has opened the registration process for Diploma and Polytechnic admissions on May 21, 2026. Eligibility Criteria
The criteria differ across programmes:
Diploma in Engineering (3-years)
- Must have passed 10th Class / Secondary School Certificate (SSC) from a recognized board.
- Candidates must have passed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Mathematics.
- Candidates should have scored at least 35% marks in their SSC examination.
Lateral Entry (2-years)
- Must have passed Class 12 with Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Computer Science, Electronics, IT, Biology, or a Technical/Vocational subject or cleared Class 10 +2 plus a 2-year ITI course in a relevant trade.

Admission Process
The admission process includes:
- Step 1: Visit techadmissionshry.gov.in and click on the “Online Registration” link. Enter their PPP (Parivar Pehchan Patra) ID, which is mandatory for registration.
- Step 2: Enter personal, academic, and category details carefully. Ensure all information matches your documents.
- Step 3: Upload scanned copies of required documents in PDF format (max 100 KB each). That include:
- 10th / 12th Mark Sheet & Certificate
- Category Certificate (if applicable)
- PPP ID (for Haryana residents)
- Passport-size photograph and signature
- Step 4: Pay the applicable fee online through the portal.
- Step 5: Submit the form and download/print the confirmation page for future reference.
- Step 6: Visit the designated verification centre if required, or complete online document verification within the given window.
- Step 7: HSTES releases the merit list based on qualifying exam marks after the registration window closes.

Merit List & Selection
The selection is entirely merit-based. Candidates are shortlisted through an inter-se merit system based on marks obtained in their qualifying examinations (10th for Diploma Engineering; 12th/ITI for Lateral Entry & Pharmacy).
To be eligible for the merit list, a candidate must:
- Successfully submit the online application form before the deadline

Choice Filling
Choice filling is a mandatory step for candidates who shortlisted in the merit list. Candidates must fill preferences carefully as seat allocation depends entirely on merit and seat availability. Log in to the official portal and select preferred colleges and courses in order of preference. Seats are allotment based on marks and the choices filled.
Seat Allotment & Reporting
- Log in using Roll Number and Password.
- Download the Provisional Seat Allotment Letter (if seats are allotted)
- Review the allotted college, and reporting schedule.
Self-report to to the allotted institute on or before 24 June 2026, pay the required fees to confirm the seat. Candidates who receive a seat in Round 1 can opt for upgradation in Round 2 if they prefer a better institute or course.
Counselling Rounds
The authority conducts the counselling process through multiple rounds until seats are filled:
- Round 1 & Round 2: Online counselling open to all registered candidates. Seat allotment is based on merit and choices filled by the candidate.
- Institute-Level Counselling: If seats remain vacant after both rounds, institute-level counselling is organized for the leftover seats.
Spot Round
If seats remain vacant after the two official counselling rounds, HSTES may conduct a Spot Round counselling. Details and schedule for spot rounds are announced through official notifications on the website, and candidates who were not allotted a seat in earlier rounds are eligible to appear.
